Andras Szakal, VP & CTO @ The Open Group


Andras is Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for The Open Group. Andras is a recognized expert on Supply Chain Security, Cloud Architecture, and Cybersecurity. He is widely recognized as the driving force behind ISO/IEC-20243 better known as the Open Trusted Technology Provider™ Standard (O-TTPS) and his tireless work to establish recognized professional credentials for technology professionals through the creation of the Open Professions Framework. Andras has achieved professional certifications in security (CSSLP), solutions architecture (Distinguished Certified Architect), and supply chain security (Master Certified Trusted Technology Practitioner). His experience spans over 30 years of research, telecommunications, global standards contributions, and public sector executive leadership.

Andras holds undergraduate degrees in Biology and Computer Science, and a master’s degree in Computer Science from James Madison University with a concentration in Operating Systems and Artificial Intelligence.

John Linford, Security Portfolio Forum Director @ The Open Group

John Linford is the Security Portfolio Forum Director of The Open Group, which is a global consortium that enables the achievement of business objectives through technology standards. As Forum Director, John supports the leaders and participants of the Security Forum, Open Trusted Technology Forum, and Assured Dependability Work Group in utilizing the resources of The Open Group to facilitate collaboration and follow The Open Group consensus-based Standards process to publish their deliverables. The Security Forum focuses on producing next-generation risk evaluation and security technology approaches, methods, applications, and best practices, including the Open FAIR™ Standards and Zero Trust Architecture, while the OTTF aims to utilize its public-private partnerships to increase product integrity and supply chain security by developing open standards and certification programs that identify Open Trusted Technology Providers™ - so that industry can "Build with integrity, buy with confidence”.

John is Open FAIR Certified and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in applied economics from San Jose State University.

Greg Spicer has several years of experience in cybersecurity, working with organizations to provide solutions to their cybersecurity challenges. He has worked in many sectors, including Legal, Finance, Insurance, Manufacturing, and Healthcare. He was most recently CRO of Braintrace, a Salt Lake City MDR provider, before their successful sale to Sophos in July 2021.
